Dear Sir/ Madam,

Hope you are doing well and enjoy your weekend. I am writing to requesting you to give me a opportunity in company US head office.

I am Faiza Adnan from Delima company Pakistan and I am working here as branch manager of Delima sub office in Pakistan since 2020. I am loyal and hardworking employee of the company as company has increases his sales up to 70 under my leader from past two years. I want to polish my leadership skills under the MR Smith who is the best marketing manager and appointed in US office recently.

I would like to work with him so that I could improve my skills in marketing field.

Additionally, during my US stay I will pursue my part-time study which is 6-month diploma in business marketing from University of California. During my stay in US my assistant manager will handle the office work with online collaboration with me. My whole team is very dedicated with their work they will definitely cooperate with me during my U.S visit.

I would appreciate you if you allowed me work in head office for certain time period. Additionally, provide the important terms and conditions regarding temporary transfer. It could be beneficial for me as well as for company. After completing my degree, I could perform better for the company extension especially in under develop economy, therefore it is necessary to polish the skills and improve strategies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for the request, the plan for work coverage, and the request for assistance. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the motivation for the transfer is clear, the explanation of how work will be covered is slightly vague, relying on 'online collaboration' without specifying how critical local decisions will be managed. The purpose is clear, but the letter could be improved by providing more professional detail regarding the transition plan to fully satisfy the requirements of a formal business request.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into distinct paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. The use of cohesive devices such as 'Additionally' and 'Therefore' helps to guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the jump from discussing the assistant manager to the team's dedication is a bit abrupt. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is clear, though it lacks the sophisticated, unobtrusive linking required for a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their intentions clearly. There are some attempts at more formal business language, such as 'temporary transfer' and 'online collaboration'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and minor errors, such as 'under develop economy' (should be 'underdeveloped') and 'under the MR Smith' (unnecessary article). The range is sufficient to convey the message, but the lack of precision and occasional word-choice errors prevent it from reaching a higher band. Expanding the use of more precise professional collocations would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that detract from the professional tone. Examples include 'I am writing to requesting you' (should be 'to request'), 'give me a opportunity' (should be 'an opportunity'), and 'company has increases his sales' (should be 'increased its sales'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score to the 6.0 band, as the control over complex structures is not yet consistent.
