Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly explain the motivation for the transfer, propose a viable method for managing your workload remotely, and request the manager's assistance in the formal process. The tone is appropriate for a professional request. To reach a higher band, ensure that your ideas are slightly more developed; for instance, you could specify which particular skills you hope to acquire or provide more detail on how the online portal will facilitate your specific daily tasks. Overall, the purpose of the letter is clear and the requirements are fully met.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing each prompt requirement, and a professional closing. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate different ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'While I will be away' and 'Due to different time zones' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally slightly mechanical. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that transitions between sentences are smoother. The referencing is generally clear, and the overall progression of the letter is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using professional terms like 'international operations', 'temporary position', and 'at your convenience'. There are some minor errors, such as 'grate' (great) and 'effiectively' (effectively), which are spelling slips. Additionally, phrases like 'write it to HR' are slightly unnatural; 'liaise with HR' or 'initiate the process with HR' would be more precise. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, incorporating more sophisticated collocations would elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I am writing to request that you could help me' (should be 'request your help' or 'request that you help'), 'I will away' (missing 'be'), and 'Your any advice would be help me' (should be 'Any advice you could provide would help me'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you reach a higher band.
