Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt effectively. You clearly explained your motivation for the transfer, proposed a plan for your current workload, and requested assistance from your manager. The tone is appropriate for a formal business letter. The ideas are well-developed, particularly the benefits of the transfer for your professional growth. To reach a higher band, ensure that all instructions are followed precisely; for instance, the request for the manager to contact their superior could be phrased more naturally to reflect standard corporate hierarchy. Overall, the response is purposeful and fully satisfies the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your argument easily. You use some cohesive devices such as 'For example', 'As a result', and 'While I am away', which help connect your thoughts. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the use of 'Also' at the start of sentences could be improved by using more varied linking words or phrases to enhance the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using professional terms like 'professional reputation', 'productivity', and 'responsibilities'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'work with various cultural employees in abroad' (should be 'employees from different cultures abroad') and 'access me transfer details' (should be 'provide me with transfer details'). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, these occasional errors in collocation and phrasing prevent the score from being higher. Focusing on more natural collocations will help improve your precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'interest to work' should be 'interest in working', 'a six months' should be 'six months', and 'all responsibilities will take by my colleagues' should be 'will be taken by my colleagues'. Additionally, there are issues with verb tense and subject-verb agreement, such as 'if they will get stuck'. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band score. More attention to proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is recommended.
