Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly state the reason for the request (family commitments in London), explain how your work will be managed (handing over tasks and remote availability), and ask for assistance with the process. However, the development of these points is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation regarding how your work will be covered is quite brief and lacks professional detail. To improve, ensure that your ideas are more fully extended to demonstrate a more professional tone appropriate for a formal request to a manager.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use some basic cohesive devices such as 'Commencing with', 'Moreover', and 'Hence' to link your ideas. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or unnatural in a professional context. Additionally, the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors, which makes the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed at times. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would help elevate your score in this area.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your needs clearly. You use some relevant business-related terms like 'process assistant', 'hand over', and 'application'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'bring your attention to move my position' and 'due to family function'. These errors indicate a limited range of collocation and stylistic awareness. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise professional collocations and avoid literal translations that sound unnatural in English.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'I am Amrit working as', 'I decide to work', 'on meetings', and 'Before, go to London'. These errors, particularly with verb tenses and prepositions, are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these slips prevents the text from being considered highly accurate. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will significantly improve the quality of your writing.
