Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explain your motivation for the transfer, propose a method for managing your current workload, and request your manager's assistance. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat informal and lacks professional polish. For instance, mentioning that a 'best friend' works at the head office is slightly unprofessional for a formal request. Additionally, the explanation of how you will handle your work is a bit vague. To reach a higher band, ensure your tone is consistently formal and provide more concrete details regarding your professional contributions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into three distinct paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'Not only... but also', and 'As you know'. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. For example, the transition in the first paragraph regarding your friend is a bit abrupt. Furthermore, the use of 'i' instead of 'I' throughout the text is a persistent issue that affects the overall presentation. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring consistent paragraph structure would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'enhance', 'plethora', and 'operate'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'huge interest to work' (should be 'great interest in working') and 'do not become burden' (should be 'do not become a burden'). The phrase 'new stuff' is too informal for a business letter. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, you need to focus on using more precise, professional collocations to move into the higher band categories.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as using 'Not only... but also' and conditional-like clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('one of my best friend work'), article usage ('the head office of California'), and consistent capitalization of the personal pronoun 'I'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your request, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will significantly improve your performance.
