Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for the request, the plan for work coverage, and the request for assistance. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The explanation for wanting to work at the head office is quite brief, and the request for the manager's help is somewhat informal and lacks the professional tone expected in a formal business letter. To improve, you should expand on the specific skills you hope to gain and provide a more detailed, professional proposal for how your current responsibilities will be managed in your absence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward, such as 'Moreover, written work I can send remotely'. The progression of ideas is clear, but the transitions between sentences could be smoother. The letter lacks a professional closing structure, and the overall flow is hindered by the brevity of the sentences and the lack of sophisticated linking words to connect the ideas logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying on simple terms like 'work', 'do', and 'ask'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'colleges' instead of 'colleagues' and 'head quarter' instead of 'head office'. The phrase 'Make more future bright' is unidiomatic and lacks the professional register required for a formal letter to a manager. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary related to business and professional development, and ensure that word forms and collocations are used correctly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'I it’s would be best time', 'I will be complete my current work', and 'Please ask to the head quarter'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. The errors in verb tense and sentence construction are frequent, which prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
