Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for the request, the plan for work coverage, and the request for assistance. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of your ideas. For instance, the explanation of how your work will be covered is quite brief and lacks detail. To improve, you should expand on your professional goals and provide a more concrete plan for your remote work arrangements. Because the length requirement was not met, the task is only partially addressed, which prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized, moving from the purpose of the letter to the work plan and finally the request for help. However, the paragraphing is insufficient; the entire body of the letter is presented as a single block of text. Using clear paragraph breaks for each bullet point would significantly improve the structure. While some cohesive devices like 'Secondly' and 'In this way' are used, the flow is somewhat mechanical. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus will help you achieve a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. Phrases like 'great international company' and 'new heights of my carrer' are somewhat generic. There are also minor errors, such as the spelling of 'carrer' and the phrasing 'great favour from you towards reaching'. To improve, try to incorporate more professional and specific collocations related to business and career development. Expanding your range of vocabulary will help you express your ideas with more sophistication and clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. For example, 'I have a wish of working' is unnatural; 'I am keen to work' would be better. There are also issues with article usage ('the head office of company') and punctuation, such as missing spaces after commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of English sentence construction and article rules.
