Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to inform you that I would like to spend 6 months working in America in our head office to get more valuable experience and boost my skills.
The primary reason for working in our other company`s head office is that I want to gain more experience and work with our experienced head office seniors . By improving my skills and learning more strategies through getting more hands on experience would be grateful for our company`s productivity.
I already trained my Assistant coworker about how and what kind of responsibilities he have to manage. Along with it, I will be available through video call and text messages if there will be any doubts or emergency. In this way, there will be less workload and everything will be managed.
I want your help in arranging my meeting with our head office and also arranging my six month training period over there. Lastly, I would be thankful for your help as I will not disappoint you and help our company with the skills and experience.
I am waiting to hearing a positive response from you soon.
Your`s faithfully,
Amritpal Kaur

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly state the purpose of the request, explain the handover process for your current duties, and ask for assistance in the arrangement. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal business letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive; for instance, you mention wanting to 'gain more experience' in both the introduction and the second paragraph. To improve, ensure each paragraph adds distinct value rather than restating the same goal. Overall, the task is fulfilled effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In this way' and 'Along with it' to connect ideas. However, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother. The use of paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter. While the structure is clear, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to show the relationship between your request and the benefits to the company.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'productivity', 'responsibilities', and 'arranging'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'would be grateful for our company`s productivity' (which is grammatically awkward) and 'trained my Assistant coworker' (where 'briefed' or 'prepared' would be more natural). You attempt to use professional language, which is good, but some phrasing feels slightly repetitive. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise business-related collocations would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'he have to manage' (should be 'he has'), 'I am waiting to hearing' (should be 'I am looking forward to hearing'), and the incorrect use of the apostrophe in 'Your`s'. Additionally, the sentence 'By improving my skills and learning more strategies through getting more hands on experience would be grateful...' is a sentence fragment that lacks a clear subject. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band score.
