Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly state the purpose of the request, explain how your workload will be managed through training others and remote availability, and ask for the manager's assistance. The tone is appropriate for a formal business letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, while you mention learning new skills, expanding slightly on how these specific skills would benefit the company upon your return would have strengthened the response. Overall, the task is fully addressed in a clear and relevant manner.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the request. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition' and 'furthermore' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally slightly mechanical. The transition between your current experience and the request for the transfer could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different requirements of the task, which helps the reader follow your argument easily.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'marketing department', 'trainee', and 'strategies'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'great full' (should be 'grateful') and 'gain my knowledge' (should be 'expand my knowledge'). While you successfully convey your meaning, the vocabulary is generally functional rather than sophisticated. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing when describing your professional goals.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'request you for transferring me' (should be 'request a transfer') and 'which will eventually helpful' (missing the verb 'be'). Additionally, 'From a trainee to an employee I have gain' contains a tense error ('gained'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and auxiliary verbs in complex sentences.
