Dear ................. ,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Mr. Trump,
I am writing in order to request my temporary transfer to the company's headquarter in the Canada for a time duration of around six months.
I got the opportunity to attend a developer conference which will be held in Toronto over the next six months. I was selected as a one of the core member to organize the event. So, along with this event I would like to visit our company's head office as well as I would like to work there so I does not lose a progress on my work.
When I will be away from the current office, my colleague will take responsibility of my work in this office until it is finished. I will personally take part in completeness of my work by requesting and assessing daily reports from him.
I would be helpful if you can request managing team about my transfer to the company's head office.
Thank you for your time and consideration and let me know if you need any details about the conference in order to fact check.
Yours sincerely,
Ayush Prajapati.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: explaining the reason for the transfer, describing how your work will be managed, and requesting assistance. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the explanation for the transfer is slightly confusing; you mention a developer conference in Toronto but do not clearly link why this necessitates a six-month stay at the head office. The ideas are relevant, but the development of the 'how work will be done' section is a bit vague, relying on a colleague without specifying the nature of the handover. Overall, the purpose of the letter is clear and the requirements are met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific requirement of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'So', 'When I will be away', and 'In order to', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter. To improve, ensure that the progression between sentences is smoother; for example, the transition between the conference mention and the request to work at the head office could be more tightly linked to improve the flow of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'temporary transfer', 'core member', and 'consideration'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'headquarter' (should be 'headquarters') and 'completeness of my work' (which is slightly unnatural; 'completion' or 'oversight' would be better). You also use 'managing team' instead of 'management team'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise collocation and attention to singular/plural forms of business terminology to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'I am writing in order to request...' and 'I would be helpful if you can request...'. However, there are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('I does not lose', 'I would be helpful' instead of 'It would be helpful') and article usage ('the Canada', 'a one of the core member'). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures will help improve your score in this criterion.
