Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for the request, the coverage of work, and the request for assistance. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited. For instance, you mention wanting to visit the head office to learn, but you do not specify what skills or knowledge you hope to gain. Furthermore, the explanation of how your work would be handled while you are away is vague; you simply state that you have colleagues who help you, but you do not explain how your current responsibilities will be managed or maintained during your absence. To improve, provide more specific details about your professional goals and a clearer plan for your workload.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter lacks paragraphing, which is essential for organizing ideas in a formal letter. The flow of ideas is somewhat disjointed, and the transition between sentences is often abrupt. While you use some basic cohesive devices like 'but' and 'because', the overall structure is repetitive. To improve, group your ideas into distinct paragraphs: one for the introduction and purpose, one for the explanation of work coverage, and one for the request for help. Using a wider variety of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' would help create a more logical progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express professional concepts clearly. There are several instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'despritly' (desperately), 'colluaguge' (colleagues), and 'bouns' (bonus). You also rely on simple phrasing like 'I want to' and 'I done my work'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise business terminology and improving your spelling. Expanding your vocabulary to include more formal expressions suitable for a letter to a manager will significantly enhance the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tense ('I work for you since two years' should be 'I have been working for you for two years'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, which makes the text difficult to read at times. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures. To improve, practice using a wider range of complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences, and pay closer attention to verb tenses and basic sentence construction to ensure your meaning is conveyed accurately.
