You work for an international company, and would like to spend six months working in its head office in another country. Write a letter to your manager. In your letter

• explain why you want to work in the company's head office for six months
• say how your work could be done while you are away
• ask for his/her help in arranging it

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to share my desire about working in our company's head office in New York. Since I am working as a product developer in our Mumbai branch, I want to gain deeper understanding of the international market for performing better at my current job. Due to this, I want to work in our main branch in the USA as global exposure will help me to improve my creativity and innovation.

While I am away, I could stay connected with my team via online meeting on weekly basis. If you could allow, I can certainly train one of our team member to handle my responsbilities for six months. Although I can handle the online work by myself, we can assign somebody to ensure smooth functioning of machines during work-in-progess.

I would greatly appreciate if you could make the necessary arrangement for my short-term transfer. Not only will this contribute to our branch's success but also this would be a significant achievement in my career.
