Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all parts of the prompt well. You clearly explain why you want to work in the head office by mentioning your professional growth and the need to support your pregnant wife in America. You also explain how your work will be managed in your absence, noting that your junior worker can take over and your team leader will handle the rest with your ongoing support via phone. Finally, you ask for your manager's help in arranging the transfer. The ideas are relevant and adequately extended, showing a clear purpose throughout. Although some of the personal details are expressed slightly informally, the core requirements of a general training task 1 letter are fully met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall structure with an appropriate opening and closing. You use basic sequencing markers such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Last but not the least' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, paragraphing could be managed more effectively, and some cohesive devices feel slightly mechanical or are grammatically awkward, such as 'trade targetsofd this year' and referencing confusion like 'she is in his labour pain days'. While the progression of ideas is generally logical and understandable, referencing and substitution errors occasionally disrupt the flow, placing this performance firmly in the band 6 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message about your job targets, family situation, and work handover. You attempt some less common vocabulary such as 'beneficial', 'experience', and 'recoured traning', but there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, including 'trade targetsofd', 'preagnant', 'campany', and 'reagrding'. These errors show limited control over word formation and spelling, although communication is not severely impeded. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of precise lexical items with fewer spelling and collocation mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'I would like you to inform that my trade targets... are almost completed' and 'Moreover, she is my close friend so when ever in day or night she needs to ask something... she will call me.' However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including tense issues ('she moves' instead of 'she moved'), pronoun gender confusion ('she is in his labour pain days', 'in hes life'), and missing prepositions or articles. While these errors do not completely obscure your meaning, they occur frequently enough to prevent you from achieving a higher score.
