Grammatical Range and Accuracy5.0
Overall5.5

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully address all parts of the prompt by explaining your personal reason for wanting to work at the head office, describing how your duties can be managed through hybrid arrangements, and requesting your manager's assistance with the transfer. However, some aspects are under-developed. For instance, the explanation of how your work will be done while away is quite brief and lacks specific details about task delegation or project management. Similarly, the request for help could be more fully elaborated to better fit the official descriptors for higher levels. Despite these limitations, your response covers all required bullet points clearly and maintains a relevant, appropriate tone throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your letter presents a coherent overall arrangement where ideas are generally easy to follow. You use basic paragraphing to separate your introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, cohesion at times feels a bit mechanical or faulty due to abrupt transitions between sentences, such as moving from your personal situation directly to the location of the head office without a smooth linking phrase. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences lack sufficient cohesive devices to guide the reader seamlessly. To progress further, you need to employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices and ensure that paragraph transitions are handled with greater organizational skill.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating your core message about family responsibilities and hybrid work. You attempt some less common vocabulary items, such as 'surgery', 'communicate', and 'transer', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in spelling and word choice. For example, 'ar rom' instead of 'afar from' or 'far from', and repeated spelling slips like 'apppreciate' and 'emplyee'. While these lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to restrict your score. Developing greater precision and accuracy in spelling and collocations will significantly enhance your lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'I am an emplyee in your company and writing this letter to request...' and 'I have made all arrangements to fix the system so that the work will never under any affect.' You demonstrate some control over basic structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause some difficulty for the reader. Issues include missing articles ('Indian head office'), incorrect prepositions ('communicate to the work' instead of 'commute to work'), and run-on sentences without proper punctuation. To achieve a higher band, you need to increase your control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of grammatical slips.
