Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain your interest in the head office, describe staying in contact and completing assigned work remotely, and ask Sam to help arrange the move. Your reasons include learning about the office environment, communication, time management, and developing your skills. However, the explanation is not always clear: the reference to your parents visiting the United States is difficult to connect to your professional request, and the learning goals are listed rather than developed. The arrangements for continuing your work are also quite general; you could specify how you would manage your current duties and coordinate with colleagues. A clearer, more focused explanation of the benefits to both you and the company would strengthen the letter.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The letter follows a broadly sensible order, moving from your reasons to work arrangements and then to your request. However, most of the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the separate points are difficult to distinguish. Linking phrases such as “apart from this” and “as a result” do not always show a clear relationship between ideas, and the repeated use of “and” makes the sentences feel crowded. For example, the sentence beginning “The main reason is that my parents…” combines personal circumstances with several workplace goals. Use separate paragraphs for your motivation, work plan, and request, and connect each idea with more precise transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “head office,” “time management,” “interact,” and “Video call meeting,” so the reader can understand the main topic. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are unnatural, such as “my parents visiting for some reasons,” “new agents,” and “any my presence needed.” “Shift” is also not the most suitable verb for requesting a temporary work placement. Spelling errors such as “aslo” and imprecise expressions reduce the overall control of vocabulary. Aim for more natural workplace phrases and check spelling; for example, describe “working alongside colleagues” and “remaining available for meetings” rather than relying on vague wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas in longer sentences and use some subordinate clauses, as in “I will in contact with you during this 6 months so…” However, these longer structures are often faulty, and several basic verb forms and sentence patterns need attention. For example, “my parents visiting” needs a finite verb, while “I will in contact” requires “I will be in contact.” The phrase “I also to learn” is missing a correctly formed verb, and “any work or any my presence needed” is not a complete grammatical clause. Articles, prepositions, and punctuation also need more consistent control. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them accurately using clauses such as “while” and “so that.”
