Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my interest for working internationally in our comapany head office which is located in another country, and I would like to work there for 6 months.

Working for an internalional company helps me to improve my communication skills because I will interact with people who have different backgrounds and culture. Moreover, I will be familier with internationl work environment, and I will get knowledge how they handle any difficult situations and problems. Additionally, It helps me to explore another country culture, language.

I already spoke with my co-worker who will manage all my tasks. I gave him training him about all my responsibilities. If he face any problem while completing tasks, he can contact me through whatsapp because I am available till 10 PM.

I would appreciate it if you could book flight ticket for me, and arrange the accommodation which is near to the head office. I would be grateful if company could take care of my living expenses in foreign country.

I am looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Yours sincerely,

Ramanpreet

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you explain that the placement would develop your communication skills and expose you to different work practices, describe how a co-worker could handle your tasks with your support, and ask your manager to arrange travel and accommodation. The purpose of the letter is clear and the requests are relevant. However, the reasons for choosing the head office are somewhat general, and the work-cover plan would benefit from more detail about how responsibilities would be transferred and how you would stay in contact. The request for the company to cover living expenses is also introduced without explaining why this support is needed. More specific development of these points would make the letter more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it moves from the purpose and benefits of the placement to the cover plan, then to practical requests and a closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and connectors such as “Moreover” and “Additionally” show how the reasons relate. Some linking is mechanical, however, because several benefits are added in a list-like sequence. The transition from the work-cover plan to requests for travel and accommodation is understandable but could be smoother. Also, “I gave him training him about all my responsibilities” makes the reference and relationship between the ideas harder to follow. Use more varied links and clearer phrasing to strengthen progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “communication skills,” “responsibilities,” “accommodation,” and “living expenses,” so the main message is generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific workplace language, such as “international work environment.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “comapany,” “internalional,” “familier,” and “internationl.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “get knowledge how they handle” and “explore another country culture, language.” These issues limit precision and make parts of the letter less fluent, even though they do not prevent understanding. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for describing professional development and workplace arrangements.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional clause in “If he face any problem while completing tasks, he can contact me” and a polite request structure in “I would appreciate it if you could…”. The meaning is usually clear, and errors rarely obstruct communication. Some grammatical problems remain, particularly with agreement and sentence construction: “If he face” should use the correct verb form, while “I gave him training him” contains an unnecessary repeated object. The phrase “I will get knowledge how they handle” also needs a grammatical link between “knowledge” and the following clause. Review verb agreement, object patterns, and clause construction to make your varied sentences more accurate.
