Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You explain that you want international exposure and hope to apply what you learn in Delhi, and you give a relevant example of your previous visit to Melbourne. However, the letter only partly fulfils the task: it does not clearly state that the proposed stay is for six months, and it gives no practical explanation of how your current work would be handled while you are away. The request for help is present, but “help in changing my work location” is vague and does not specify what arrangements you need your manager to make. Develop each bullet point directly—for example, explain how colleagues could cover your duties or how you could continue some work remotely, then make a clear request for approval and support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable letter structure, with an opening, several paragraphs, and a closing, and the ideas generally relate to the proposed transfer. The progression is less clear within the body: the reasons for going to Toronto, the Melbourne example, and the benefits of international connections are presented as separate points without showing how they connect to the six-month arrangement. Linking phrases such as “Besides” and “not only this” are awkward or do not clearly signal the relationship between ideas. The final paragraph also moves quickly from a request to an expectation of a response. Organise the body around the three task points and use clear transitions to guide the reader through them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of workplace vocabulary, including “daily operations,” “human resources,” “marketing sector,” and “international connections,” which helps communicate the general purpose of the letter. There are also noticeable problems with word choice, collocation, and spelling that make some phrases unnatural or unclear, such as “exposure of another countries workculture,” “drastic upward movements,” and “comprehead the situation.” Some expressions are also unnecessarily formal or indirect for a request to a manager. Aim for accurate, natural workplace phrasing and check spelling carefully. For example, you could say “gain experience of working in another country” and “improvements in marketing performance” rather than the less natural phrases used here.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and attempts at more complex structures, including “as I know currently…” and “not only this change may have the positive impact but also help us…”. However, several sentence patterns are not controlled accurately. For example, “I would like to bringing” uses the wrong verb form after “would like to,” while “not only this change may have…” has an unclear and unbalanced structure. The opening sentence also joins several ideas in a way that makes the relationship between them difficult to follow. Use “I would like to bring…” and build complex sentences with a clear main clause and correctly matched clauses. More consistent control of verb forms, articles, and sentence construction would make your meaning easier to follow.
