Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to inform you that, I would like to work for next six months in the head office in the USA.
To begin with, last month, I saw the posting of an administrative assistant position in the head office and I am interested to work in this position as it aligns with my previous study. Moreover, I would like to gain some experience in that field.
However, I would assure you that my work will be done on time while I am away. Furthermore, I am planning to take my laptop with me for my office work. So, it is easy for me to work from other location. Could you plase able to help me with arranging my posting over there? It would be a great help for me. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
Yours sincerely,
Riddhi

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain your interest in the USA head office, say you would take your laptop and complete your work while away, and ask your manager to help arrange the posting. The reason that the administrative assistant role matches your previous studies is relevant, but the benefits of spending six months there are only briefly explained. The plan for maintaining your current responsibilities is also somewhat unclear: taking a laptop suggests remote work, but you do not explain how this would fit with working in the head office or how your duties would be covered. Develop these points and make the arrangement you are requesting more specific so the purpose and practical plan are equally clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter follows a sensible overall order: it introduces the request, gives a reason, describes a work plan, and closes politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish the opening from the main request, and expressions such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” make relationships between ideas visible. However, the progression within the main paragraph is somewhat mechanical, with several ideas joined by “Moreover,” “However,” and “So” rather than developed through clearer links. “However” does not express a clear contrast with the preceding reason, and the shift from working in the head office to working from another location is not fully explained. Separate the motivation and practical arrangements into distinct paragraphs, and use transitions that accurately show how the ideas relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the purpose, and phrases such as “administrative assistant position,” “gain some experience,” and “arranging my posting” communicate the main ideas. You also use a suitably polite closing. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “previous study,” “work from other location,” and “help me with arranging my posting over there.” The spelling error “plase” is noticeable, and “posting” may not clearly convey a temporary transfer or placement. These choices do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Use more conventional workplace language, such as “previous studies,” “work remotely from another location,” and “help arrange a temporary transfer,” and proofread carefully for spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including the reason clause “as it aligns with my previous study” and the conditional-style assurance about completing work while away. Most of the message remains understandable, and the letter’s basic sentence structure is generally controlled. Some grammatical errors remain, however. In “I am writing this letter to inform you that, I would like,” the comma is misplaced and the clause after “that” should not be separated. “Could you plase able to help me” is missing a suitable verb construction; write “Could you please help me…” or “Would you be able to help me…?” There are also article and number issues in “for next six months” and “from other location.” More accurate control of these patterns, alongside varied sentence structures, would strengthen the letter.
