Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
Myself Alex karp, Senior software engineer at Hubsphere INC. working since 2021. I have climbed the ranks from the junior engineer to the lead team where we deploy the frontier models building from scratch. Currently, we are experiencing some difficulty co-ordinating on tasks in the team. To overcome, I would like to request temporary transfer to the head office for six month to learn the organization practices which I believe are significant from the deployement perspective of the product feature in numbers of week.
My visit includes spending time with the core development team to look up how their product managers oversight daily sprint progress on the planned schedule to undergo stages of feature deployement in 1 to 2 weeks. This might be major breakthrough for our branch which will bring more importance to the work and contribution to the company in the terms of impact.
During the time, my work will not be any reduction of duties or roles on our project as current model involves communicating on slack and daily online meeting at the start of the day. I would much appreciate if an oppurtunity been given to contribute more to our team by learning new techniques which our company's fundamental stand on.
Thanks for the consideration, looking forward to hearing from you at the earliest convenience.
Best Regards,
Alex

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain that you want to learn head-office practices, describe how you would remain involved through Slack and online meetings, and ask for an opportunity to make the transfer. The reason is relevant, especially the difficulty coordinating tasks and your interest in how the core team manages development. However, the purpose and expected benefit are not always clear; for example, “in numbers of week” and “bring more importance to the work” do not explain precisely what you hope to learn or how it would help your branch. The request for your manager’s practical assistance is also indirect. Develop the benefits more clearly and explicitly ask for help arranging the placement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for your motivation, the head-office experience, and how you would continue working. This helps the reader follow the main points. Some links between ideas are less clear, however: “To overcome” does not specify what action will address the coordination problem, and the sentence beginning “My visit includes” combines several details without a clear progression. The closing also moves quickly from your work arrangements to a general expression of thanks. Use clearer transitions and organise each paragraph around one purpose: explain the problem and benefit, outline the proposed placement, then state your remote-work plan and request your manager’s help.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a suitable range of workplace vocabulary, including “temporary transfer,” “core development team,” “sprint progress,” and “online meeting.” These terms show an attempt to discuss your role and the company’s processes specifically. Some less common choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes parts of the message unclear: “product managers oversight” and “in numbers of week” do not express your intended meaning precisely. There are also spelling errors such as “deployement” and “oppurtunity.” Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling; precise, familiar wording is more effective than ambitious phrasing that obscures your point.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which I believe are significant” and a sentence explaining how you would stay connected while away. The main message is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “Myself Alex karp” is not a complete, natural introductory sentence, and “if an oppurtunity been given” is missing the auxiliary verb needed for a conditional request. In “for six month,” the noun also needs a plural form. Review sentence completeness, verb forms, articles, and agreement, and use shorter sentences when several ideas are being combined.
