Dear ................. ,
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to request about working in our company's head office which is in different nation.
As i am working from far away of head office, i do not have real experience about working in professional environment as well as i want to gain knowledge about our companies rules and regulation. Due to this, i would like to stay there for six months for my personal growth because it also affects our comapnies growth.
Moreover, if i will be not available here, yet i can work online staying far from office. Also, there is any meeting held by manager i will attend online and can give my opinion as well.
I hope you can understnd my concepts and i would be so happy if you arrange it for me .
I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
Yours Faithfully,
Sahil

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three main points: you explain that you want professional experience and knowledge of company rules, suggest working online, and ask your manager to arrange the move. However, the reasons for choosing the head office and the practical plan for maintaining your duties are only briefly explained. For example, “I can work online” does not clarify how your regular responsibilities would be covered or coordinated during the six months. The request is understandable, but “I hope you can understand my concepts” is vague and does not clearly specify the help you need. The response is also three words below the required minimum. Add a little detail about the benefits to the company and the arrangements you are requesting.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it opens with the request, gives reasons, describes remote work, and closes politely. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and connectors such as “Moreover” and “Due to this” show relationships between ideas. Some links are less clear or slightly mechanical, however. “As I am working from far away of head office” is difficult to connect smoothly to the reason that follows, while “yet” does not express the intended contrast in “yet i can work online.” The final request also follows abruptly from the work plan. Use clearer transitions and connect each paragraph more explicitly to the purpose of the letter.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough relevant vocabulary to communicate the general purpose, including “professional environment,” “gain knowledge,” “personal growth,” and “work online.” However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, which makes parts of the letter less natural. For instance, “request about working” and “understnd my concepts” do not express the intended meaning precisely; “company’s rules and regulation” also needs more accurate wording. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “comapnies” and “understnd,” as well as inconsistent capitalization. Aim for precise workplace language and check spelling carefully so your ideas are easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, such as the sentence beginning “As I am working…” and the conditional idea about being away. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “if i will be not available,” where the conditional verb form is incorrect, and “there is any meeting held by manager,” which has problems with sentence structure, articles, and tense. The opening phrase “I am writing to request about working” also uses an incorrect grammatical pattern. Capitalization and punctuation are inconsistent. Practise forming direct requests and conditional sentences, and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
