Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the main purpose by explaining that you want to work at the Canadian head office because you are leading a project that is about to open, and you describe how you would manage online work and meet deadlines. You also ask your manager to arrange an alternative staff member. However, the request for help is indirect (“I hope you understand my position”) rather than a clear, polite request, and the arrangements for your duties while away are not fully explained. Clarify which tasks you can handle remotely, what must be delegated, and how you would coordinate with the replacement. These relevant but partly under-developed details keep the response from covering every part fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter follows a broadly sensible order: you give the reason for the proposed placement, then discuss your current duties and staffing needs, and finish with a sign-off. This gives the reader a basic sense of the message. However, the ideas are crowded into two long paragraphs, and links such as “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “Because” do not always show the relationship between points clearly. For example, the sentence about an alternative staff member is separated from the explanation that some work requires someone physically present. Use distinct paragraphs for your reason, work arrangements, and request, and connect each point more precisely to improve progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “head office,” “responsibilities,” “management,” “assignments,” and “alternative staff member,” which helps communicate the situation. There are also attempts at more formal expressions, such as “fulfill my commitments.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “share my experience in my company's head office,” “pending work and assignments clear,” and “physical person.” Spelling and word-form slips such as “untill” and “under stand” also reduce control. Aim for precise workplace phrasing, for example, explain that you would “complete outstanding tasks” and that certain duties require “an on-site colleague.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “Because I am a project head” and a sentence explaining how you would manage work online. However, many sentences contain errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation, which sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “I should came there,” “I should delivered,” and the fragment “Because I am a project head of that venture.” The opening sentence also combines several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise forming complete sentences and keeping verb forms consistent, such as “I have been asked to go there” and “I would complete my outstanding work before the deadlines.”
