Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear sir or mam,

I am writing to inform you that it has been five years since i have working in the same branch for the company and there is nothing new to learn here, so i am thinking to spend six months in the main office which is in United Kingdom. Many of our employer got their promotion and western business exposure owing to this.

Most of my current duties in the company is based on the data entries which i can perform easily while i am in UK, there wauld be no disruption fot that and remaining work which require in-person attention wauld be easily adressed by my colleague.

I wauld greatly appreciate your help if you will help me in referring my interest to the higher officials. I assure you this wauld help in the economic growth of this company.

Yours Faithfully,

Ritik

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you explain that you want new learning and international exposure, describe how data-entry duties could continue remotely, and ask your manager to refer your interest to senior officials. The practical explanation that a colleague could handle work requiring in-person attention is relevant. However, the reasons for choosing the head office and the benefits to your development are only briefly stated, and the request could be more specific about what help you need, such as discussing the proposal or contacting the host office. The response is also four words below the required minimum, so add a little relevant detail to complete the task fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall sequence: it gives your reason for writing, explains how duties could be covered, and ends with a request. The paragraphing supports this progression, and links such as “so” and “while” help connect related ideas. This is already coherent and easy to follow. To make the organisation more polished, separate the opening explanation from the specific request more clearly and use transitions that show the relationship between your professional goals and the company’s benefit. The final assurance about economic growth feels abrupt because it is not explained or linked to the preceding request; a brief supporting sentence would create a smoother ending.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant workplace vocabulary, including “main office,” “data entries,” “in-person attention,” and “promotion,” so the reader can understand the situation. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “I would greatly appreciate your help.” However, some choices are imprecise or unnatural: “western business exposure” is unclear, “referring my interest” does not express the request naturally, and “economic growth of this company” is an unsupported and awkward description of the likely benefit. Spelling errors such as “wauld,” “fot,” and “adressed” also reduce accuracy. Choose more precise professional expressions and proofread spelling to make the vocabulary more controlled.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more developed sentence forms, for example the opening sentence links your experience, reason, and proposed move, while the second paragraph explains remote and in-person duties. The main message remains understandable. Some grammatical errors are present, however. In “it has been five years since i have working,” the verb form should be “I have been working”; “Most of my current duties … is” has a subject–verb agreement problem; and “if you will help me” is not the appropriate conditional form for this request. Capitalisation of “I” and punctuation spacing also need attention. Review verb forms, agreement, and conditional structures, then proofread each sentence.
