Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear sir,

Working in head office for six month, helps me for improving not only my inner skills but also i could be knowing that how employees work in head office. As a result, it might be helpful for our company's growth and can reach their target on time.

I would be complated my work onlline as company is same but the location is different. At our place, most of work is done by work from home, because of my work order is to arrange the products data and make a report. Hence, I would manage work on time.

I request you to arrenge transfer proposal to head office and helps to arrenge visa and some documentation which are needed. I know that you have a good relation with HR who is working in head office. I appriciated your help for sending me to head office for six months.

Your Faithfully,

Sarah

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you explain that a placement would develop your skills and help you understand head-office operations, say you could continue your work online, and ask your manager to arrange the transfer, visa and documentation. The purpose is clear and the ideas are relevant. However, the reasons for the six-month placement are only briefly explained, and the work plan would be more convincing with details about how you would coordinate with colleagues or report progress remotely. The request also focuses on administrative help rather than confirming whether the manager can approve the arrangement. This covers the task well overall, while some points remain less fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall structure: the opening explains your motivation, the next paragraph describes how you would work remotely, and the final paragraph makes your request. Linking expressions such as “As a result,” “Hence,” and “I request” help show the relationship between ideas. Some connections are less clear or feel mechanical, however. For example, “because of my work order is to arrange the products data” does not clearly explain how working from home supports the proposed arrangement. The final paragraph also combines the transfer request, visa arrangements and appreciation without a clear sequence. More precise links and a clearer progression from proposal to practical plan to request would strengthen the organisation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the workplace and the request, including “head office,” “work from home,” “products data,” “transfer proposal,” and “documentation.” This gives the letter enough topic-specific language to communicate its main purpose. However, several noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make parts less natural or harder to understand: “inner skills,” “work order,” “complated,” “arrenge,” and “appriciated.” Some phrases, such as “helps to arrange visa,” also need more natural wording. Aim to learn common workplace collocations and check spelling carefully; more precise choices would make your meaning clearer and the tone more professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” The main message is generally recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “Working in head office for six month, helps me” has an awkward opening and incorrect agreement, while “I would be complated my work” does not form a correct future construction. In “I request you to arrenge … and helps,” the verbs do not follow a consistent grammatical pattern. Practise building accurate sentences with “I would be able to…” and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms.
