Dear ................. ,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Mr. Polizaer,

I am writing this letter to request a work arrangement specifically working at the head office in another country for at least six months. I would likely to know if it is possible within your power to let me experience work internationally.

I wanted to experience the culture and learn a lot of things that may help our main branch. Particularly on experiencing collaborations of different team members there and would make me more independent and also improve my communication skills. Further more, working aboard can help me adapt quick because of the new environment that I would be in.

I will finish all my task here at the company so nothing will hinder other employees and also if I have more work when if its possible I will prioritize the work here.

If it is possible I would likely to help arranging it with your sister so it would be a smooth transaction of work.

Thank you for your consideration. I would like to hear your reply soon!

Kind regards,

Julian Kilayko

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you explain your interest in international experience, mention completing your current tasks, and ask for help arranging the move. The reasons—learning about the culture, collaborating with another team, and improving your communication—are relevant. However, the practical plan for maintaining your work is less fully explained: “I will finish all my task here” does not clarify how duties would be covered during six months, and “prioritize the work here” is vague. The request for help is also unclear because “your sister” is not explained. Develop these details and state more directly how the arrangement would benefit the company as well as you.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a clear overall shape, with separate paragraphs for your reasons, work arrangements, and request, followed by an appropriate closing. The reader can generally follow the progression from your request to your explanation. Some connections are less smooth, however: “Particularly on experiencing collaborations…” is a fragment that does not link clearly to the preceding sentence, while “Further more” introduces another reason mechanically. The work-plan paragraph also moves from finishing current tasks to prioritising future work without explaining the relationship between them. Use complete sentences and clearer links between each idea, and make references such as “it” and “your sister” explicit so the reader can follow the arrangements.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “head office,” “internationally,” “collaborations,” and “communication skills,” so your meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts to use more specific expressions, but some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward. For example, “working aboard” does not convey working in another country, and “adapt quick” uses an unsuitable form. “Smooth transaction of work” is also not a natural way to describe organising a transfer or arrangement. These choices keep the vocabulary from sounding consistently precise. Aim for natural workplace phrases and check spelling and word forms, while retaining the relevant topic vocabulary you already use.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the main message remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur, particularly in verb forms and sentence construction. In “I would likely to know,” the verb pattern is incorrect; “I would like to know” is needed. “Particularly on experiencing collaborations…” is not a complete sentence, and “if I have more work when if its possible” contains an unclear, faulty clause structure. There are also issues with articles and plurals in “all my task.” To improve, check verb patterns after modal verbs, make sure each sentence has a complete main clause, and simplify conditional sentences when several ideas make them difficult to control.
