Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three requested points: you explain your interest in learning how the head office operates, say a teammate could handle your duties, and ask your manager to contact the head office. These details make the purpose clear and relevant. However, the reasons for wanting the placement are only partly developed: “grab more knowledge” and looking around the workspace do not explain in much detail how the experience would benefit your work or the company. The coverage of work arrangements is also unclear because you say your teammate will handle the work, then say you will stay in touch, without explaining whether you will perform any duties remotely. Clarifying this arrangement and making the request more specific would strengthen the letter.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement, with separate paragraphs for your reasons, work coverage, and request. Sequencing expressions such as “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “Lastly” help the reader follow these stages, and the closing is appropriate. This meets the expected level of organisation, though the linking is somewhat mechanical because each paragraph begins with a signpost. Some connections between ideas could also be clearer: in the work paragraph, the teammate’s role and your own contact with colleagues are mentioned, but their relationship is not fully explained. Use more natural transitions and make the sequence of arrangements explicit—for example, explain who will cover each duty and how you will communicate while abroad.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main purpose, including “head office,” “techniques,” “manage,” and “job duties.” However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural or make the message less precise. “Grab more knowledge” would be better expressed as “gain further experience,” while “look around the work space” is informal and does not clearly convey professional learning. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “likw,” “knoe,” “offfice,” and “definately,” which reduce the overall accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for precise workplace language and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, and the main message is generally understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the letter. For example, “my office work will be handle” needs a passive form (“will be handled”), and “he know” should be “he knows.” In “i also excited,” the verb “am” is missing; “I would like let” also needs “to.” The sentence beginning “Whether, i will work…” does not form a correct contrast, and “i am requesting to you” uses an incorrect grammatical pattern. Improve control of these structures and check capitalisation and punctuation, especially at sentence beginnings.
