Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the main request—working at the US head office for six months—and give reasons, including gaining international experience and living near your sister. However, the task is only partly addressed: the link between this experience and permanent residency is unclear, and the benefit to the company is asserted rather than explained. Most importantly, you do not say how your duties could be handled while you are away; being available in the US does not explain how your current work in Canada would be covered or transferred. You do ask your manager to arrange documents, but the request is vague. Explain a practical work plan and specify what support or approval you need to make the arrangement possible.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, two body paragraphs and a closing, and connectors such as “To begin with” and “Moreover” help signal movement between points. However, the progression is not consistently clear: personal details, reasons for the transfer and claims about your work are grouped together without a strong sequence. The second paragraph does not explain how your responsibilities would be managed, so the reader is left without a key link in the argument. Some transitions are also mechanical, and the final request follows abruptly from the preceding information. Organise the letter around the three requested points, using a separate, focused paragraph for the work-cover plan and a clear final request.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant workplace vocabulary, including “head office,” “junior consultant,” “international experience,” and “hardwork and dedication,” so the purpose is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the letter less professional, such as “head quatar,” “more benfits,” “extraordinatory,” and “Permenant residance.” Phrases such as “arrange my all documents” and “helpful for both the sides” are also unnatural. Aim for accurate, conventional business expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, you could refer to “the company’s US headquarters,” describe the “benefits to the company,” and ask your manager to “support the necessary arrangements.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the reader can usually understand your main message. However, the range is limited, and errors recur in sentence construction, articles, verb forms and punctuation. For example, “I am writing a letter regarding i want” needs a grammatical clause such as “I am writing to request…,” while “because i want” should begin with a capital letter and be integrated more clearly. “If i live in the US is more beneficial” is missing a clear subject and verb structure, and “I kindly request to you” uses an incorrect pattern. Review sentence boundaries and practise accurate request forms, such as “I would be grateful if you could help arrange…”
