Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is very essential for any state of the world to keep the law and order situation stable. In some areas of the United states , a lock down is imposed, due to which adolescent are restricted to go out of doors after a specific time at night unless thay are accompanied by an adult. I completely agreed with the statement because It would keep the youth safe as well as they would feel more confidence while the lock down lasts outside.

Firstly , many people believe that It is very crucial for the youngsters to reamin in their homes while the curfew outside , the reason is that It ensures their safety of teenagers including any brutal attcak by the protesters while protesting. Additionally, the teenagers do not have enough knowledge and can be trapped by any gang very easily rather than a mature person. For instance , last week in Pakistan there was a protest against the government and a few youngters were mistakenly hit by the bullets of Police although they were not protesting.

Secondly, some people believe that the youth should remain inside while the curfew outside for certain time in order to ensure their mental peace. As a result they would not get some false news spreading by the troublemakers so that they would remain calm and be focused on their studies and goals. For example , If a student goes outside during the lock down he can be mantally affected by the uncertainity of the state and can loose his interest in his studies.

In conclusion , It is very important to reamin in houses for the teenagers while the curfew is outside .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support curfews because they can protect teenagers from danger and help them remain calm and focused. Both body paragraphs give relevant reasons, and the Pakistan protest example provides a concrete illustration of the safety argument. However, the two points are not developed equally: the first explains the risk of violence, while the second makes a less clear connection between being outside and receiving false news or losing interest in studies. The response would be stronger if it explained how a curfew specifically addresses these risks and acknowledged a possible drawback, such as limiting teenagers’ independence. This would make the reasoning more fully developed and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two reason-based paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Additionally,” and “Secondly” help readers follow the main points, and examples are placed alongside the ideas they support. Some connections, however, feel mechanical or unclear. For instance, “while the curfew outside” is repeated, and the link between avoiding false news and being focused on studies is not fully explained. The conclusion restates your view but adds little synthesis. Use referencing and transitions more naturally, and make each paragraph’s explanation progress step by step from claim to reason to example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “curfew,” “protesters,” “gang,” and “uncertainty,” and the reader can generally understand your position. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less natural. For example, “lock down” is not the usual term for a restriction on teenagers’ nighttime movements, and “feel more confidence” does not express your intended idea idiomatically. Spelling errors such as “rema[in],” “attcak,” and “mantally” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for public safety and restrictions, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “while,” and “although,” so there is some variety in structure. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and naturalness. For example, “adolescent are restricted to go” has problems with number agreement and verb pattern, while “they would not get some false news spreading” is not formed clearly. There are also inconsistent capitalisation and punctuation, such as capitalising “It” mid-sentence and placing spaces before commas. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after “allow” or “restrict,” and sentence boundaries. More consistently controlled complex sentences would strengthen the response.
