Student answer (Band 6.5)
In many cities of the United States, during curfew, youngsters are restricted to roam around in the area and coming out of their homes without an older person at a certain night time. I believe, this rule is beneficial for teenagers in order to be safe and healthy by remaining at home.
The main reason for the requirement of an adult with a teenager is evidence of an important work. By enabling youngsters to come out with their parents would indicate to the police that they might have an important piece of work which needs to be done for several reasons. So the officers would be able to concentrate on other assigned tasks which are essential to address other emergencies.
Curfew is imposed due to serious risks which might be a trouble if teenagers get out without the presence of an adult. A youngster might get stuck at a particular location if going outside alone, as there might be situations in which transposition and other ways of travel could be shut down. Consequently, a youngster alone might face difficulties in reaching home safely and could end up spending a night outside in a bad situation.
I believe, accompanying an adult by a teenager while going out in a curfew can not only increase the safety of them but can also be useful for a youngster to follow rules which are implemented by the government. In the time of curfew there are several strict rules for the safety of people who are going out and for their family as well. For example, when the Corona virus was spread all over the world masks were mandatory for everyone's safety and the prevention of the spread.
In conclusion, although it might be difficult to manage the situation during a curfew, going out with the children is required for reducing the risk and maintaining a peaceful environment for the family and the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed the prompt by stating your opinion clearly in the introduction and maintaining it throughout the essay. You provide reasons for your position, such as safety and the reduction of police workload. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'important work' is slightly vague and could have been better explained with concrete examples. The reference to the COVID-19 pandemic is a bit tangential, as it relates more to public health mandates than to standard teenage curfews. To reach a higher band, ensure that every supporting point directly reinforces your main argument with more detailed explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'consequently' and 'in conclusion,' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel a bit forced. For example, the connection between the paragraph on police workload and the paragraph on safety risks could be smoother. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes slightly unclear, which occasionally forces the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning. Improving the variety of linking words would help the essay flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'curfew,' 'mandated,' and 'restricted.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'transposition' (which is not the correct term for public transport) and 'evidence of an important work' (which is awkward phrasing). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding literal translations of concepts. While your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your message, it lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'youngsters are restricted to roam around' (should be 'restricted from roaming'), 'accompanying an adult by a teenager' (awkward passive construction), and 'the Corona virus was spread' (should be 'the coronavirus spread'). These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and passive voice structures. Increasing the variety of error-free complex sentences will also help boost your score.
