Student answer (Band 6.0)

Safety is a major priority of every individual all around the world. Some time in many cities or countries due to safety of people, they are not allowed to go out from their place.

According to me it is good idea to implement this decision to keep teen agers away from danger. They should be accompanied with their guardians during late nights, for an example in some cities the kidnapping of teen age was on peak that is the reason lockdown is implemented for the children age of 13 to 19 years old to make sure their safety.

Moreover, this age group need guidance, as they are not able to take right decision for them and it is not a great idea to let them outside during a curfew specially on night time, for an instance at this age individuals can be influenced by any and they can take wrong steps against the society to breakdown the curfew.

I think, teenagers should be always supervise by adults for their better growth and development. This face is life changing for children, during curfew parents should keep an eye on their children and should make restrictions for their outings mainly during the night time, even they should avoid to go out of their home unless it is necessary.

To conclude, In my point of view teenagers should not only under supervision of adults during the time of shut downs but also they should be observed for all of their activities in normal days.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion in favor of curfews for teenagers. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention safety and the need for guidance, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the example regarding kidnapping is a strong point, but it is not fully explored or linked back to the broader societal benefits of curfews. To improve, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same general idea about supervision. The response meets the minimum length requirement, but the ideas need more elaboration to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'According to me' and 'for an instance'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by repetitive phrasing, particularly in the conclusion, which simply restates the need for supervision rather than summarizing the main arguments effectively. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one without relying on repetitive structures.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'on peak' instead of 'at its peak' and 'breakdown the curfew' instead of 'violate the curfew'. Additionally, there are minor errors in word formation, such as 'teen agers' (should be one word) and 'supervise' (should be 'supervised'). To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to social policy and adolescent development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'Some time in many cities... they are not allowed' (awkward phrasing), 'this age group need guidance' (subject-verb agreement error: 'needs'), and 'teenagers should be always supervise' (passive voice error: 'supervised'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct formation of passive voice structures. Proofreading for basic errors like missing articles or incorrect verb forms will significantly enhance the clarity of your writing.
