Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 102 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you introduce the topic of curfews, the development of ideas is severely limited. You mention that curfews create a sense of security, but you do not fully explore the implications or provide a balanced argument. The response lacks a clear conclusion or a well-developed opinion, which is essential for a Task 2 essay. To improve, you must expand on your arguments with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no logical progression of ideas, and the paragraphing is insufficient. While there is a basic attempt to link ideas, the use of cohesive devices is very limited. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraph is abrupt. The lack of development makes it difficult to follow a coherent argument. To improve, you should use clear topic sentences for each paragraph and employ a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') to connect your ideas more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'modern era' and 'foundation of future generation' are somewhat clichéd or imprecise in this context. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'crime has been happend' (should be 'has been occurring') and 'accessible to crime' (which is not a standard collocation). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to social issues and law enforcement to improve your precision and range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'crime has been happend from years', 'Some of the areas has been put in restrictions', and 'if their is no restriction'. These errors involve subject-verb agreement, tense usage, and basic spelling/homophone confusion ('their' instead of 'there'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. To improve, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement.
