Student answer (Band 6.0)

In concern of curfew, in which youngsters are not allowed to be roaming around in community with the presence of an adult in night time is acceptable. Moreover, I believe in same manner and my opinion is justify in upcoming paragraphs.

In currents situation, increasing number of youngsters are influenced by the movie or the old gangsters and they will become to one of them. In this tense situation, if we allow our younger generation to roving around without their parents at night, they might be take the law in their hands and damage the public properties, as well as the human beings. For instance, in Bangladesh, gen Z generation take over the public roads and damage the public properties and moreover, they try to attack on the police and media personal. This all happens under the influence of the bad personality.

In addition to this, if our teenagers are doing such a things which happened in Bangladesh then a policeman take a strict action against them and it cause a several damages to the person. Such as, they have to face a police complaints and in the worst case scenario, they might be behind the bars for few days and it would be damage their personality and affect the career opportunities as well.

To conclude and I believe that educate the younger generation about the curfew and how it can be affect their personal life if they break the law. I support that having an adult with teenager during night time is preferable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion in favor of curfews. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The argument relies heavily on a single example (Bangladesh) which is not fully integrated into the broader context of the US-based prompt. While the position is consistent, the supporting points lack depth and nuance, often focusing on extreme scenarios rather than a balanced discussion of the social implications of curfews. To improve, you should aim to provide more varied arguments, such as the balance between public safety and individual freedom, and ensure your examples are more relevant to the specific context provided in the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'In concern of' and 'In currents situation' are used incorrectly as transition markers. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing, making the logical flow feel disjointed. While there is an attempt to use linking words, they are not always used with sufficient flexibility or precision. Improving the variety and accuracy of your cohesive devices will help your ideas flow more naturally and logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'roaming around in community', 'damage the human beings', and 'media personal'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of control over word formation and collocation limits the effectiveness of your communication. Focusing on learning word families and common collocations will help you express your ideas more naturally and accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('a policeman take'), incorrect verb forms ('they might be take'), and article usage ('in the night time'). These errors are persistent and occasionally impede the reader's understanding. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the text from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex structures.
