Student answer (Band 6.0)

In nowadays, Child safety become a major concern of every parent in every nation, However, in certain places of United States the law is enforced on teenagers to stay in their home unless they have an adult with them to move out. In the upcoming paragraphs, I will share my opinions with examples.

To begin with, their are few reasons that US officials need to put curfew in action in order to maintain the safety of teenagers. First reason is, rising in illegal activities in USA, in the recent report published in BBC News which shows in the past decade the criminal offenses in some areas have risen by 63% which is a critical number. When the criminal is followed by a cop it is highly seen that they catch up a suspect in their trap to escape from police.

The another reason is influence, it is quiet noticeable during the growing period of life a human being is highly influenced by the guns and other things. As harmonal change in their body insists them to try different things, and they gets easily influenced by the criminals or other individuals who do not follow laws. In some categories it is seen that majority of folks started taking drugs in their teenage under influence of someone else for which they will regret later.

Thus, in my opinion for the child safety curfew is a best initiative taken by US officials and make their nation peaceful and healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion in favor of curfews. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention illegal activities and peer influence, the arguments are somewhat underdeveloped and lack depth. Furthermore, the response is slightly under the 250-word minimum, which impacts the overall task fulfillment. To improve, ensure you expand on your points with more detailed explanations or concrete examples. For instance, instead of just mentioning 'illegal activities,' you could explain how a curfew specifically prevents these crimes by limiting the opportunities for teenagers to congregate in high-risk areas at night.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with' and 'The another reason,' although some transitions are slightly mechanical or grammatically awkward. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the connection between sentences could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases more naturally, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'In nowadays' (should be 'Nowadays') and 'put curfew in action' (should be 'implement a curfew'). You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'criminal offenses' and 'illegal activities,' which is good. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and avoiding informal phrasing. Expanding your range of synonyms and using more precise academic vocabulary will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('their are few reasons,' 'majority of folks started'), article usage ('in United States'), and sentence structure ('When the criminal is followed by a cop it is highly seen that they catch up a suspect'). While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are noticeable and occur throughout the essay. To improve, practice proofreading your work for basic errors and work on constructing more complex sentences with accurate punctuation and verb forms.
