Student answer (Band 6.0)

Since curfew is imposed in some part of US, childrens are restricted to be out of home at night during certain time unless they are accompanied by younger than child age.I strongly agree with this statement due to the purpose of safety and security. This essay will elaborate reasons and real scenario based examples.

To begin with first reason for having parents or siblings with the teenagers is that, it gives them safety while walking on roads to reach at destination, because childrens have tuition classes and other leisure activities, where offender often target those areas where child spend most of their time ,if they have company,it reduce chances of curfew surrounding places. For instance, many metropolitan cities authorities impose curfew at night to avoid any criminal activity. Thus it improves individuals safety by restricting hours at night time.

Another reasons is that restricting certain hours not only enhance safety but also foster the peaceful life for human. As people can complete their work earlier and can reach home to get rest and can enjoy family time.Apart from this it give us time to do some physical activities, meditation ,yoga as it reduces our stress and we can complete our tasks within time limit.

In conclusion, although having curfew can be a negative among society as it affects child independence and they have to rely on parents. However i believe this strategies has positive impact on society and can reduce criminal activities

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses the prompt by stating a clear position in favor of curfews. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The arguments regarding safety are relevant, but the second paragraph shifts focus to general lifestyle benefits (yoga, meditation) which are less directly related to the specific issue of teenage curfews. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the discussion. To improve, you should expand on the specific impacts of curfews on teenage behavior and provide more detailed, focused examples that directly support your central argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression within the second paragraph is weak because the transition from safety to general stress reduction is abrupt. Additionally, there are some issues with referencing, such as the unclear phrase 'curfew surrounding places'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph maintains a single, clear focus would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'childrens' (plural of child is children), 'curfew surrounding places', and 'negative among society'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated academic vocabulary and ensure you are using words in their correct context. For example, instead of 'offender', use 'potential criminals' or 'malicious individuals'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('childrens are', 'reasons is'), missing articles, and punctuation errors. The sentence 'unless they are accompanied by younger than child age' is confusing and grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly pluralization and article usage, and practice constructing more complex sentences with correct punctuation.
