Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is often argued that teenagers should not allowed to stay late at night unless they are accompanied by an adult. I completely agree with this view because it helps ensure their safety and reduces the likelihood of criminal activities.
The primary reason is that protect teenagers from potential danger. Because of this, at night, young people are more likely to become victims of crime, such as robbery, drug-related activities because adolescents often lack the experience to deal with such situations, so having adult with them can supervise, and protect them. For example, if a teenager has to travel home late after attending an event or meeting being accompanied by a parent or another adult can provide them security.
Another important reason why I support this policy is that it can help prevent juvenile crime. When teenagers are allowed to stay outside late at night without an adult, they are more likely to engage in anti-social behaviour, such as fighting or underage drinking. By imposing a curfew, the government can reduce these kind of activities and maintain public order. For instance, when young people going from home at late night sometimes their friends push them to have a taste of toxic products. Consequently, both teenagers and communities can enjoy a safer environment.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that imposing a curfew on teenagers is a perfect measure. Is in not only ensures their safety but also discourages criminal behaviour and save them to add in bad companies. Therefore, I fully support this policy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in favor of the curfew. The ideas are relevant, focusing on safety and the prevention of juvenile crime. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'toxic products' is vague and could have been better explained to support the point about peer pressure. While the position is clear throughout, the supporting examples could be more specific and fully extended to reach a higher band. Overall, the response is well-focused on the topic, but the depth of analysis is consistent with a Band 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The primary reason', 'Another important reason', and 'Consequently', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by grammatical errors, such as in the sentence 'For instance, when young people going from home at late night...'. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is logical and easy to follow throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their opinion clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'anti-social behaviour' and 'public order'. However, there are also some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'save them to add in bad companies' and 'toxic products' (which is an unnatural way to refer to drugs or alcohol). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and sentence construction. Examples include 'teenagers should not allowed' (missing 'be'), 'that protect teenagers' (should be 'that protects'), and 'having adult with them' (missing an article). Additionally, the sentence 'Is in not only ensures their safety' contains a typo and structural error. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors limits the score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and auxiliary verbs.
