Student answer (Band 6.5)
In few locations of the US, Government laid a "curfew", where individuals who are under eighteen are not permitted to go outside their home at mention time in the night, unless if they are with their relatives who passed 18 years of age. In my view, it is an essential rule for the teenagers as they can easily be manupulated by some wrong people and increasing concern of the criminal activities has been happening in the few local areas of the US.
The primary reason for the teenagers do not have a permission to go outside at the night in some area is some bad people are manupulating the teenagers for doing the criminal offences. In the US, nowadays it is very common to encourage the under age individuals to perform some offences such as kidnapping and killings. Teenagers are doing to these criminal activities due to the need of money to fullfil their desires of going to parties and having drugs. As a result after being caught in some offences, they have to spend their important life into the prison. For example, a recent report published in the US on friday regarding the age groups who are more involve into the crimes, it shows more than 40 percentage of the teenagers are involve into the crimes than other age groups at some areas. To stop all these crimes and save the future of the future generations, curfew is required for the under age people at some people.
Another key reason in support of teenagers do not have to go outside at nights is the increasing concern of the robbery events happened at some areas. Teenagers are nowadays the common targets for the robber to loot them. They are not given the enough training and have a less knowledge about how to tackle this crime, they are sometimes scared in that situation. As a result, robber can easily loot them. For instance, a news report of the new york times mentioned 60 students who are under eighteen are looted in the New York area in the last 20 days. For rectifing this issue, curfew is the only options left, for saving them from this decaying situation.
In conclusion, for the short-term solution curfew is good but government needs to take some actions to finish the crime permenently, which are being done by the teenagers and which are happened with the them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating an opinion in favor of curfews. The ideas are relevant, focusing on crime prevention and safety. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, and the arguments rely on generalizations that lack nuance. While the student provides specific examples (e.g., the New York Times report), these appear to be invented or illustrative rather than factual, which is acceptable in IELTS, but the logic connecting these to the necessity of a curfew could be more sophisticated. The position is maintained throughout, but the conclusion is slightly weak, suggesting that curfews are only a 'short-term' solution, which slightly undermines the earlier argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'The primary reason', 'Another key reason'). Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'at some people' at the end of the second paragraph, which is confusing. Overall, the structure is functional, but the flow between ideas could be improved with more varied linking words and better sentence-to-sentence cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors ('manupulated', 'fullfil', 'permenently', 'rectifing') and awkward collocations ('robbery events', 'decaying situation'). While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'curfew' and 'criminal offences', the range is limited. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring correct spelling and word choice. The repetition of basic words like 'teenagers' and 'crimes' also limits the lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the US', 'the night'), subject-verb agreement ('teenagers do not have a permission'), and preposition usage ('in the few local areas'). Some sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'Teenagers are doing to these criminal activities due to the need of money'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. A greater focus on sentence structure and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is necessary.
