In some areas of US, a curfew is imposed in order to prevent teenagers from going out at night alone unless accompanied by an adult. There are varied reasons behind this approach which involves increasing crime rates such as kidnapping and murder.
To begin with, in some areas of America children are not allowed to go out at night because of the increasing crime rate as many criminal activities are done at night such as kidnapping and murder which provide an advantage to the criminals to escape after committing a crime when everyone is sleeping. Moreover, if an adult accompanied a teenager at night prevent criminals to commit a serious crime by keeping them aware of their presence which overall eliminates the risk of harm. For example, In many countries girls are not allowed to remain outside after the sunset.
Further, there is a risk of accidents which happened during night times as the driver believe that during night time there is less traffic and roads are clear due to which in most cases they neglect the speed limit and signs which results into a death of an innocent individual. additionally, parents are more concerned towards the safety of their children and teenagers prefer to spend time with their friends doing night out activities like street racing which is common in US. in order to prevent them from negative consequences adult supervision is mandatory which reminds them of their presence.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the curfew and providing reasons for it, such as crime prevention and safety. However, the position is not clearly stated in the introduction; it merely describes the situation rather than expressing a firm opinion. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the argument about adult supervision is mentioned twice without significant expansion. To reach a higher band, you should ensure your personal stance is clearly articulated in the introduction and maintained throughout, and develop your supporting points with more specific, nuanced examples rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'which provide an advantage to the criminals to escape'. Additionally, some sentences are run-on or lack clear logical links, making the flow feel slightly disjointed at times. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'curfew', 'criminal activities', and 'adult supervision'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'done at night' instead of 'committed at night' or 'neglect the speed limit' instead of 'disregard the speed limit'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and less common vocabulary items. Avoid repeating basic words and focus on using synonyms to enhance the precision and variety of your expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('if an adult accompanied a teenager... prevent criminals') and missing articles ('in US'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences lacking proper capitalization or ending with awkward phrasing. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement, article usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct grammatical subordination.
