Student answer (Band 6.5)
In some parts of United America, a curfew is imposed on teenagers to require them to stay indoor after a certain time at night. It is only allowed them when they are accompanied by an adults. I strongly believe it is a wise decision to protecting children from potential risk and maintaining public safety.
Teenagers are often vulnerable than the adults to various risks. Such as peer pressure, criminal activity, and become victim of crime. By implementing these regulations, it helps authorities to mitigate the involvement of youngsters in crime at late night. For instance, young people often go out at night and perform crime. Few years back, a tathay patel case was highlighted as he was young and smashed nine people on road by his own car at night.
On the other hand, it also prevent teenagers from become victim of crime. Many psychopaths wonder at night and they find juveniles most vulnerable. They target this group and even killed them. Long time ago, two brother and sister roaming outside against there parents permission and killed by intruder at night. Due to these reasons parents should have strict action on kids, only allowed them to go out when they are around.
To recapitulate, government should impose these regulation not only preventing children from performing crime but also keep them safe after certain time at night. Crime is skyrocketed this days and without this curfew it become grave issue. They should only allowed to visit outdoor when their care takers are around them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of curfews. The ideas are relevant, focusing on crime prevention and safety. However, the development is somewhat limited; the examples provided, such as the 'tathay patel case' and the anecdote about the siblings, are underdeveloped and lack sufficient context to fully support the argument. While the main points are clear, the essay would benefit from more nuanced discussion regarding the balance between safety and personal freedom to reach a higher band. The position is consistent throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate (e.g., 'Due to these reasons', 'On the other hand'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the pronoun 'they' is used ambiguously. While the overall structure is coherent, the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'United America' instead of 'the United States', 'perform crime' instead of 'commit crimes', and 'psychopaths wonder' instead of 'wander'. Some collocations are unnatural, such as 'crime is skyrocketed'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the limited range of vocabulary and the recurring errors in word choice prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('it also prevent'), incorrect verb forms ('only allowed them'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the writer attempts complex structures, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar means that the control over sentence construction is limited. The errors do not completely obscure meaning, but they are noticeable throughout.
