Student answer (Band 5.0)
Curfew is imposed in some area of us where teenager are not allowed to go ouside after a fixed time at night unless you are accompained by adult. In this essay, I would like to shed light on the view point of given statement in the forthcoming paragraphs.
to commence with, crime is increasing day by day. teenager will more safe if they are not allowed to go ouside without adults. This is more beneficial for reducing the crime in usa. Despite from this, children also become more repectable towards their kith and kins. They always take permision from adults before going with other during night time . In this way, they learn the moral values.
On the other hand, emposing curfew is not good. Teenager also have right and freedom to enjoy their life according to their preference. By doing this, they feel their life more boring which leads to taking wrong steps in their life.
In my opinion, although, it is good during night time if they are accompained by teenager and their life will be more safe and secure. But for a longer time it is not good.
In conclusion, teenager will prevent from crime and they face less challenges in their life with adults. But their are also few negative consques of curfew which cannot be overlooked.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address the topic and provide a clear opinion, the arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the point about 'moral values' is mentioned but not explained in depth, and the counter-argument regarding freedom is brief. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples or logical consequences to reach the required length and demonstrate a more thorough exploration of the prompt. The position is clear, but the lack of depth prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. Phrases like 'to commence with' and 'on the other hand' are used, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are often abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'By doing this, they feel their life more boring', where the antecedent of 'this' is slightly ambiguous. Improving the flow between sentences using a wider variety of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'ouside', 'accompained', 'repectable', and 'consques'. Additionally, some word choices are unnatural, such as 'kith and kins' (which is an idiom usually used in a different context) and 'taking wrong steps'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure you proofread for basic spelling mistakes, which currently detract from the professional tone of the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'teenager will more safe' (missing verb 'be') and 'their are also few negative consques' (incorrect use of 'their' instead of 'there'). Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent, and articles are frequently missing (e.g., 'in some area of us'). To improve, you should practice using a wider variety of complex structures, such as relative clauses and conditional sentences, while paying closer attention to basic grammatical accuracy and punctuation.
