Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the current societal landscape, imposing curfew on young generation is a commonly witnessed phenomenon. It is presented for consideration that the US government is imposing curfew on teenagers for particular time. In my perspective, it is indeed a positive development, and its implementation may bear certain merits.
First of all, the rise in crime rates in some areas of the US due to population growth results in imposing such curfew which is promoting teenagers safety. Moreover, most of crime activities happen at the night time, and keeping youth on the streets during such time is not safe for them and their families. A case in point is many criminals commit crime during night time and they can harm or use teenagers during their escape from such activities.
Furthermore, curfew during night time will keep youngsters away from participating in such criminal activities. In addition, they can go out with their parents which can provide them a basic security and keep their parents aware about their children activities. A good example of this is many criminals brainwash these teenagers and involve them in their crimes which results in more criminal activities. Nevertheless, this curfew not only keep teenagers involving in such dangerous behaviors during unmonitored hours, but also strengthen their bond with their parents.
To conclude, the idea of imposing curfew on teenagers has become a popular bone of contention. From my standpoint, I find myself surrounded by merits due to the fact that this trend promotes healthy future for younger generations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of curfews. The ideas are relevant, focusing on safety and crime prevention. However, the development is somewhat repetitive; the argument that teenagers are safer at home is restated in different ways without adding significant depth or nuance. While the position is clear throughout, the supporting examples are slightly generic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to explore the counter-arguments or provide more specific, real-world examples of how such policies have impacted communities, rather than relying on general statements about criminal behavior.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction and conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing. For instance, the transition in the final paragraph ('I find myself surrounded by merits') is slightly unnatural. The paragraphing is appropriate, and there is a clear progression of ideas, but the essay would benefit from a more sophisticated range of linking words to improve the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'societal landscape', 'phenomenon', and 'bone of contention'. However, there are some issues with collocation and word choice. For example, 'imposing curfew on young generation' is missing articles, and 'keep teenagers involving' should be 'keep teenagers from being involved'. While you attempt to use more advanced vocabulary, some phrases are slightly misused or unnatural. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word choices are precise and contextually appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' is often missing) and verb forms (e.g., 'keep teenagers involving' instead of 'prevent teenagers from being involved'). There are also minor punctuation and agreement issues, such as 'many criminals commit crime during night time'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage.
