In some areas of the US, a 'curfew' is imposed, in which teenagers are not allowed to be out of doors after a particular time at night unless they are accompanied by an adult.

Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is widely acknowledged that curfews are imposed in some areas of the USA and children are not permitted to go out at late night. While I agree with this view as it provides safety, I also believe that children will lose freedom if they are not permitted to go alone.
On the one hand, the main reason for imposing curfew is safety. If teenagers are not accompanied by adults, they might get in serious trouble. Across various locations of country it has been found that children are often kidnapped and harmed by criminals for some reasons, which is both frustrating and cruel. For instance, many gangsters kidnap teenagers and ask for huge money from parents or sell them to some illegal institution, where children have to suffer from dangerous situation. Hence, it is crucial to have a curfew to provide safety to our young generation.
On the other hand, if children have to be accompanied by adults, they might start feeling that they are losing freedom. In addition, while going out without adults supervision they will feel scared, which will affect individuals personality. According to survey, it has been noticed that adult who were given independent at young age are more likely to tackle problems easily compared to those who did not get freedom. Therefore, it is better to allow them to live independently, which will also help them to make quick decisions.
Although being with children at mid-night provides safety to them, I firmly believe that children should be taught some safety measures instead of limiting their freedom, which will help to address problem in reality.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the safety benefits and the potential drawbacks of curfews. You maintain a clear position throughout, concluding that teaching safety measures is preferable to restrictive curfews. The ideas are relevant, though some points, such as the mention of 'illegal institutions' or the link between independence and decision-making, could be more thoroughly explained to reach a higher band. The response is balanced, and the arguments are logically structured, meeting the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'In addition', and 'Therefore' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, though some phrasing, such as 'across various locations of country', is slightly awkward and impacts the natural progression of ideas. Overall, the structure is coherent and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'acknowledged', 'imposed', and 'independent'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'ask for huge money' (should be 'demand a ransom') and 'illegal institution'. Additionally, 'adult supervision' is used correctly, but the phrasing 'adult who were given independent at young age' contains grammatical errors that affect the precision of your vocabulary. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring word forms are accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'at late night' should be 'late at night', and 'locations of country' is missing an article. There are also subject-verb agreement issues, such as 'adult who were given' instead of 'adults who were given'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to limit the score in this criterion.
