Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary era, teenagers are banned to go outside after a certain time of the day without any elderly. In my opinion, it is a positive approach as it protects young ones from some serious accidents.
Firstly, curfew helps children to stay away from wrong habits because whenever they go outside they go with their parents. As a result, their guardians always guide for right or wrong. For example, if a teenager wants to try some inappropriate activity which is not good for them, parents can explain the reason. In this way, they become more aware regarding life.
Secondly, children feel more safe environment when parents accompany with them. Young people can sometimes influenced by peer pressure and involved in smoking, drinking, however, they can stay away from such activities under their parents supervision. For instance, if some friend forces to drink alcohol, parents can strictly refuse and explain the detrimental effects of drinking.
To conclude, I would like to say that a reasonable curfew is good for youngsters betterment, however, if there would be strict restriction, youngsters will feel suffocated.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 182 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments remain superficial and lack sufficient depth or specific examples. While the position is clear and the main points are relevant to the topic, the under-length nature of the essay prevents a full development of the arguments. To improve, you must expand on your points by providing more detailed explanations and perhaps a more nuanced discussion of the counter-arguments or broader societal implications of curfews.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude' to signal the structure. However, the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical, and the overall flow is limited by the brevity of the text. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more fluid and sophisticated rather than relying on simple list-like transitions.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'go outside' and 'parents'. There are also minor collocation issues, such as 'feel more safe environment' (should be 'feel safer' or 'feel in a safer environment') and 'youngsters betterment' (should be 'youngsters' betterment'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'teenagers are banned to go outside' (should be 'banned from going outside'), 'without any elderly' (should be 'without an adult'), and 'can sometimes influenced' (should be 'can sometimes be influenced'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure is often repetitive. Increasing your control over complex structures and ensuring subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your score.
