Student answer (Band 6.0)
In some areas of US, a 'curfew' is imposed, in which teenagers are not allowed to be outside at night without any adult. I agree with this opinion because it creates safe environment for society. In this essay I will explain in brief.
Firstly, crimes are always done at night, and teenager are future of the county, so this rule is very helpful for society. In teenage children get distracted easily.
If they go outside at late night without and adult they start gain interest in bad habits. At night they get distracted and become criminal in early age although they become victim of accident and other dangerous situation. For example, teenagers may get influenced by bad company and start smoking, drinking and getting involve in crime if they spend too much time outside at night.
This curfew is very good decision for parents. Because of this curfew teenagers stay safe at home at late night in front of their parents. Moreover, teenagers become more responsible and discipline develop in them. For example, parents are aware that their children are safe and they are left in unnecessary late-night activities.
On the other hand, some parents and teenagers believe this is not good idea they think this is unnecessary not all humans are same. for them I want to say that if they want to go outside at night they should go with family and enjoy nothing wrong in that.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that curfew is beneficial for both teenagers and their parents. They can protect young people from crime and also help them develop discipline. Therefore, teenagers should not be allowed to go outside late night without adult supervision.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of curfews. The ideas are relevant, focusing on safety, crime prevention, and parental responsibility. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument that teenagers 'get distracted easily' is a generalization that could be better supported with more specific reasoning or examples. While the essay covers all parts of the task, the arguments remain at a somewhat superficial level. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more depth and nuance, perhaps by discussing the potential impact on personal freedom or the effectiveness of such policies in practice.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. For example, the transition 'For example' is used twice in close proximity, and the linking between sentences could be more varied. Some sentences feel slightly disjointed, such as 'In this essay I will explain in brief,' which is a filler phrase that does not add to the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'curfew,' 'supervision,' and 'disciplined.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing or word choice, such as 'discipline develop in them' instead of 'develops discipline' or 'left in unnecessary late-night activities.' To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary. Avoid repeating basic words and look for synonyms to express your ideas more sophisticatedly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'In some areas of US'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'teenager are future'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'although they become victim of accident'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring articles are used correctly, and proofreading for subject-verb agreement. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will help raise your score.
