Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is undeniably true that children are the future of the society. Owing to this, due to certain restriction, young ones are not allowed to step out from their home after 9'o clock until unless they are with their family or in group. According to my opinion, authorities impose the curfew for not only teenage safety but public too. There are some of the causes that I will elaborate in subsequent segments.
Commencing with the most prominent reason why teenage have to step in after 9 pm?
To be more precise, in these days, due to recession people are not able to get the job. In order to bear the expenses they start robbery or crime just for money which leads to affect the public safety specially for teenagers because of this Government assigned the curfews many places and imposed restrictions on juveniles. According to the survey, which was conducted by RCMP in Vancouver June, 2024 revealed that due to plethora crime occur at White Rock police denied the entry after 10 pm to everyone just for public and safe environment.
Moving further, the another aspect of this phenomenon is that, this lockdown also helps to get together with their family. To be more clear, this limitation also lead to positive development due to hectic schedule everyone is busy in their daily life even the children's too. If they will stayed at home even in the evening so that would be golden moment for them to devote their quality time to their family instead of roaming outside.
In conclusion, it is evident that for public safety and awareness Law makers assign this curfew that helps stay everyone safe and alert.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing an opinion on curfews. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The first body paragraph attempts to link curfews to economic recession and crime, but the logic is somewhat disjointed and the connection between unemployment and teenage curfews is not fully explained. The second body paragraph introduces the idea of family bonding, which is a relevant point, but it is under-developed. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher band score, as the reasoning remains somewhat superficial.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Commencing with the most prominent reason' and 'To be more clear'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. While the overall structure is coherent, the flow between ideas could be smoother and more sophisticated to reach a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices or non-standard collocations, such as 'step in after 9 pm' instead of 'be home', and 'plethora crime occur'. The student attempts to use some academic vocabulary, but it is often used incorrectly or in a way that sounds unnatural. To improve, the student should focus on learning collocations and using words in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'teenage have to step in'), incorrect preposition usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., '9'o clock'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is needed.
