Student answer (Band 5.5)
The government made many rules which is mendadory for everyone to follow. In a few sectors of US youngsters will go out from their home only if, they are with an adult after certain period of time. Although there are many reasons behind this strict regulation,in my opinion, it has a negative impact on teenagers because they feel restrictions in their life.
The first and foremost reason is the safety. There are many illegal activities happens such as, robberies, physical assault and many more at night in some areas. If youngsters lonely go out, they become a easy target for the criminals. This eventually increase thenumbers of crime. Due to this, a curfew is imposed in some danger areas of the US to protect their yough.
There are some advantage of this rule, but in my opinion the drawback are more. Firstly, there are many teenagers who are living alone and want to do part-time jobs, attends evening study or sports lectures for different purposes. To illustrate this, nowadays no one like to be dependent on their families for their small needs after certain age. If the restriction is there, they can not able to go out from their home and may experience lack of freedom and confidence in their life.
In conclusion, the curfew is imposed to protect the youngsters form being victem for any criminal acitivity. However, it has a negative impact on teenageres, as they can not be able to live their life as per their choice. Nevertheless, it affect their confidence and freedom.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by providing an opinion on curfews for teenagers. The position is clear throughout, and the main ideas—safety versus personal freedom—are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding part-time jobs and evening studies is a strong point, but it could have been expanded with more specific detail to fully explore the impact on a teenager's development. The conclusion summarizes the points well but repeats the main argument without adding further insight. Overall, the response covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis is consistent with a band 6 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The first and foremost reason', 'To illustrate this', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Due to this' and 'Nevertheless' in the final paragraph, where the usage does not perfectly fit the context. Referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is logical, meeting the requirements for a band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'mendadory' (mandatory), 'yough' (youth), 'victem' (victim), and 'acitivity' (activity). While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', or 'many'. There are also some word-choice issues, such as 'youngsters lonely go out' instead of 'go out alone'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and ensure accurate spelling of common words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'The government made many rules which is mendadory' (subject-verb agreement), 'they can not able to go out' (incorrect modal construction), and 'it affect their confidence' (missing 's'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is usually conveyed, the frequency of these errors suggests a band 5.5 level, as the grammatical control is not consistent enough for a band 6.
