Student answer (Band 6.5)
A curfew is imposed in various parts of United states to check teenagers go outside their house during some particular hours at night unless they are escorted by an adult. In my opinion, this act is a great initiative for the welfare of the teenagers.
The main reason behind this could be the safety of the children as many number of cases has been prevailing in society in which young generation is being harmed by wrongdoers. Therefore, the implementation of such rules become necessary for the society. For instance, there are plenty of news that are being broadcasted in which children either got kidnapped or murdered by evildoers. Further, the residential area that is surrounded by forest having fierce animals could be a reason. Because, such animals roam around near houses of people which may prove to be harmful for youngsters as they do not know how to deal with these beasts alone. As a result, company of adults become crucial for them.
Contrary, Many people especially teenagers themselves and their parents believe that this action can prove to be an restrictive approach in the growth of children as they would not be able to learn how to cope up in such kind of situations. For example, if children are nurtured under strict rules, they would not ascertain to deal in tough times. Moreover, everyone has the right to live their life as per their own will. Government should not forcefully make young people abide before these laws. This might results in making children violent as they are not completely psychologically developed.
In conclusion, the reasons such as safety of teenagers from villains and animals are important but the personal development and violent nature of children resulting from such imposition can not be neglected.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating an opinion in the introduction and providing arguments for both sides. The ideas are relevant, such as safety concerns and the potential impact on personal development. However, some points are under-developed; for example, the mention of 'fierce animals' is a bit unusual for a general urban curfew context and lacks a strong connection to the main argument. The conclusion summarizes the points well, but the overall development of ideas could be more nuanced to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Therefore', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, although the use of 'Contrary' at the start of the third paragraph is grammatically incorrect; 'Conversely' or 'On the other hand' would have been more appropriate. Overall, the structure is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. You use some good phrases like 'welfare of the teenagers' and 'psychologically developed'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'check teenagers go outside' (should be 'restrict teenagers from going outside'), 'many number of cases' (should be 'a large number of cases'), and 'abide before these laws' (should be 'abide by these laws'). These errors do not impede communication but limit the range of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'many number of cases has been prevailing' (subject-verb agreement), 'this act is a great initiative' (article usage), and 'this might results in' (verb form). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the sentence structure in the second paragraph regarding 'fierce animals' is somewhat fragmented. Improving control over verb tenses and subject-verb agreement will help elevate your score.
