Student answer (Band 5.5)
In some parts of the United States, there are some restrictions on children for going out without an adult after a particular time at night. I agree with this notion as it provides safety and teach some discipline and responsibilities to teenagers.
To start with, curfew prevents the teenagers from potential dangers such as, violence or accidents. Children are more vulnerable in this age to crime at night, so a curfew can reduce the chance of them being involved in dangerous situations. Furthermore, it prevents them from bad influences because teenagers may meet the people at night who encourage violence and they can also become the victim of bad habits such as, alchol, smoking and other drugs. So,parents feel secure by knowing that their children are safe at home.
Furthermore, restrictions on going out alone at night develops discipline among children as they follow the rules that make them responsible and teenagers who return home at a reasonable time are able to get enogh sleep that is good for their health and make them fully concentrated in schools and other tasks.
In conlusion, I think an imposed curfew can provide an ample of benefits to teenagers because of their vulnerabilty and discourage irresponsible behaviour that can help to make their future bright.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by stating a clear position in favor of curfews. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement (212 words), which limits the depth of the arguments provided. While the main points regarding safety and discipline are relevant, they are not fully developed or supported with detailed examples. The conclusion is brief and lacks a summary of the main points. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more specific evidence or personal examples to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are used to signal the progression of ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and the referencing is sometimes repetitive. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the lack of length makes the overall structure feel somewhat thin. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be communicated clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'vulnerable', 'discipline', and 'irresponsible behaviour'. However, there are some spelling errors ('alchol', 'enogh', 'conlusion', 'vulnerabilty') and minor collocation issues, such as 'provide an ample of benefits'. To reach a higher band, you should aim for a wider range of vocabulary and ensure greater accuracy in spelling and word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'teach some discipline' (should be 'teaches'), 'meet the people' (should be 'meet people'), and 'make them fully concentrated' (should be 'help them concentrate'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are some missing spaces after commas. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
