Student answer (Band 6.0)

In few cities of the United State of America, youngsters can not go out side of thier house without an adults supervision in night because of the law. Which I think is a good idea but at the same time have few disadvantages that I am going to discuss in upcoming paragraphs.

By declairing a curfew for teenagers after few ours of sunset can be helpful to avoid any miss happening with them. In cities of america, the crime rate is very incressing day by day that took place in nights so, if teenagers will be at home there will be less chances of them faceing trouble. Moreover, it is reducing the cases of rapes in US as the reports shows that the most targets are teenage girls and happened during night time. Furthermore, it will help teenagers to stay away from drugs and alchoal as usual they come in contact with these things in night parties where there is no adult is available who cares about it, to stop them from usage of drugs and alchoal which leads youngsters towards a wrong path that can be any crime. For example, I have seen a video of youngster's group who are fully drunked after a night party and unable to stand properly trying to rob a person with a broken beer bottel.

On the other hand, it has some disadvatages like, teenagers can feel captured and have to sacrifice there freedom to go anywhere at night which can make changes in there behavior as well as in there routine life. Another point is, youngsters who are stuyding and working part-time to pay there tuition fee or to manage expenses have to make a desiosion between study or work.

Overall, I belive it is a positve law which can decrease crime rate in cities but also have some cones on the life of teenagers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the curfew, providing both advantages and disadvantages. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding part-time work is mentioned but not fully explored in terms of how the curfew specifically impacts these students. While the points are relevant, the essay would benefit from more detailed examples or a deeper analysis of the social implications to reach a higher band. The response covers all parts of the task, but the depth of the arguments remains at a general level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is a logical flow from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand' are used to link ideas. However, some of the referencing is slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between sentences could be smoother. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the central topic of each paragraph is clear, meeting the requirements for a band 6.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their opinion clearly. However, there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'thier', 'declairing', 'ours', 'incressing', 'faceing', 'alchoal', 'stuyding', 'desiosion', 'belive', 'cones'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are noticeable and indicate a lack of control over spelling. The range of vocabulary is sufficient to discuss the topic, but the lack of precision and the recurring spelling mistakes limit the score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('crime rate is very incressing', 'reports shows'), article usage ('In few cities', 'in night'), and word form errors ('drunked'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation affect the overall fluency. To improve, the student should focus on proofreading for common errors like verb tenses and pluralization, as well as refining the use of articles and prepositions.
