Student answer (Band 6.0)
'Curfew' is considered as a state of emergency and imposed in situations such as wars, protests, and natural or man-made disasters. Curfew has certain conditions like teenagers are not allowed outside their residences* during the particular time especially the night without their guardians. I completely agree with this condition, because this is implemented for their safety and well-being.
To commence with, going outside alone at night in situations like wars, riots, and disasters could be dangerous for the young individuals, as they do not have experience of dealing with such constrain and difficult conditions. Likewise, teenagers are often influenced by movies and series, so they can act irresponsibely in disasters such as flood, earthquake and gas leak. For instance, in India, a group of student left their hostel at night during the bhopal gas-leak tradegy and ended up in hospital because of difficulty in breathing. Consequently, government has announced strict measures during curfews in order to prevent such incidents and increase safety of public.
Moreover, not only teenagers but also their guardians or parents should avoid going out of their homes in restricted hours unless there is a medical emergency. Since people are highly disappointed and aggresive during protests, going out might be problematic for adults as well. If there is a severe medical emergency and ambulance is not available, individuals should inform their local police that they are heading towards the hospital for treatment. This can alert the police force or sometime they may come to accompain you on the way to hospital.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of curfews for teenagers. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you provide a relevant example regarding the Bhopal gas tragedy, the connection to the prompt's specific focus on 'teenagers' is slightly weakened by the broader focus on general public safety. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are more consistently focused on the specific needs and vulnerabilities of teenagers rather than the general population. The ideas are relevant, but the depth of analysis could be improved by exploring the balance between safety and personal freedom more thoroughly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Likewise', and 'Moreover' to signal transitions between ideas. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, though the link between the introduction's definition of a 'state of emergency' and the subsequent arguments about teenagers could be smoother. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the flow of information is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'residences', 'guardians', and 'aggressive'. There are some spelling errors, such as 'irresponsibely' (irresponsibly), 'tradegy' (tragedy), and 'accompain' (accompany). Additionally, some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'constrain' instead of 'constraints'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on accurate spelling and more precise collocations will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'a group of student left' (should be 'students'), 'consequently, government has announced' (missing an article 'the'), and 'sometime they may come' (should be 'sometimes'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will also be beneficial.
