Student answer (Band 5.5)

Teenagers should accompany by an adult to go out especially the night times in some parts of United States where the Curfew is being imposed. In this essay i am going to discuss them pros and cons of the curfew and give my opinion on why do i support the government decision to protect the people of the country.

Firstly, a lot of younger citizens are missing in many parts of the country. Government is operating a new machine to trace the team who is involved in this crime. Although government is trying to catch the criminals, It needs public support to caught them. In addition to that, Police department revealed that almost all missing teenagers are found alone at night times. For example, If you want to go out after 7pm night consider going with someone in your family or call 911 to ask for help.

Furthermore, When you suspect anyone don't hesitate to inform the cops immediately without being noticed. This helps to locate the Human Trafficking gang lead ab way to find the missing citizens. Authorities requesting people to carry their mobile phones with them to help the cyber teams to trace your location all the time. This leads the criminals to commit mistakes so that police will get the gang. for an instance, if you feel you are getting trapped call to emergency number and one of the officer will reach your location ho help you out.

In conclusion, Although then government is trying to get hold of the kidnapping gang , It needs public support to get success. In my opinion everyone takes responsibility until the trouble makers get caught.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the topic of curfews, but the development is somewhat tangential. While you mention the 'pros and cons' in the introduction, the body paragraphs focus heavily on general crime prevention, human trafficking, and police procedures rather than directly discussing the impact or necessity of a curfew on teenagers. The position is clear, but the arguments lack depth and specific focus on the prompt's core issue—the restriction of movement for minors. To improve, ensure that every paragraph directly relates to the specific question asked, rather than drifting into general advice about reporting crime or using emergency services.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, 'In addition to that' and 'Furthermore' are used, but the logical flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the transition from missing teenagers to general crime reporting feels abrupt. To improve, focus on using linking words that show clear logical relationships between ideas and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing, such as 'get hold of' or 'get success', which are informal. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'lead ab way' (likely a typo) and 'trace the team' (when you likely meant 'teen'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary limits the score. Try to incorporate more precise terminology related to social policy, law enforcement, and civil liberties to enhance the academic tone of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede flow. Examples include 'Teenagers should accompany by an adult' (passive voice error), 'to caught them' (incorrect verb form), and 'one of the officer' (pluralization error). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of errors in basic sentence construction and verb tense usage is noticeable. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice will significantly improve your accuracy.
