Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is given that a curfew is imposed by the government in some places of the United States and youngsters cannot go outside their homes alone and they must be accompanied by an adult during night times. Although there are some benefits associated with this aspect, I largely believe that it is a negative phenomenon.
On the one hand, young people, who accompanied by a guardian at night, have some advantages. One of the primary advantages is that they do not feel isolated and can feel safe. Thus, they can enjoy their lives while visiting to unknown places. For example, if they are visiting somewhere with their family members, they may prevent themselves to get robbed from thieves.
On the other hand, imposing some restrictions on adolescents to go outside has several serious ramifications. First and foremost, they would feel a lack of freedom and independence. In fact, their family members should be available at night. Consequently, they can also feel bounded and cannot do their job at night. Furthermore, this restriction can also negatively affect their future. For example, if they are not being taught to outside alone in their adolescence period, it could instill a sense of fear in their minds and would afraid of going outside individually.
In conclusion, while imposing some rules on young ones regarding going outside at night creates some benefits such as feeling safe by restraining themselves from bad incidents, I am of the opinion that it negatively affect as they would depend on others and afraid of going outside alone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion against the curfew. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention safety as a benefit, the explanation is brief and slightly repetitive. The arguments against the curfew regarding independence and future development are relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion restates your position, but the overall development lacks the depth required for a higher band. To improve, ensure each body paragraph explores the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments more thoroughly, providing concrete evidence or logical consequences rather than just stating the points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' 'First and foremost,' and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Consequently, they can also feel bounded and cannot do their job at night,' where the connection to the previous point is weak. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'ramifications,' 'adolescence,' and 'phenomenon.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation that hinder precision. For example, 'visiting to unknown places' should be 'visiting unknown places,' and 'prevent themselves to get robbed' is non-standard phrasing. Additionally, 'they would afraid of' is grammatically incorrect and uses a weak lexical choice. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary is used in the correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Notable issues include subject-verb agreement and verb forms, such as 'young people, who accompanied by a guardian' (should be 'who are accompanied') and 'it negatively affect' (should be 'it negatively affects'). The phrase 'would afraid of' is also grammatically incorrect. These errors occur frequently enough to be noticeable but do not completely impede communication. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs in complex structures.
